Found Object Finds

Found Object art is so wonderfully quirky and unique because you never know what you'll discover (as, I'm sure the creators of this art feel as they go on their hunts for materials).

Summer Fruit

Here in the northeastern corner of the US, it's berry picking season. Ripe and delicious strawberries and blueberries, raspberries and blackberries are ready for the taking. Fruit has a long and interesting history as a subject in art. In the Baroque era, painters would depict lavish bounties of exotic fruits and other delicious delights for patrons to essentially show off their wealth to others. Many a student and teacher alike will test their skills with a simple fruit still life, and contemporary creators are still tackling the subject with a new eye, and a new twist.

What's in season where you live? If you have any fruit related artwork you'd like to share with our readers, please leave a link in the comments!
